Camp Layman is a unique four-season campground nestled in the mountain pines of the beautiful Plumas National Forest near Graeagle, California. Originally built in the 1920’s, the campground features 13 rustic, cozy cabins in the Feather River canyon. This is the ideal campground for families, LGBT camping, and those who love to explore. This park is pet-friendly!

Camping at Camp Layman

All 13 cabins have their own unique charm and come equipped with kitchenettes and bathrooms. The cabins can sleep anywhere from 2 – 11 people and include all bedding, kitchenware, towels, and cookware. Campers have access to small barbecues located throughout the park, as well as a large group barbecue, a centrally located fire pit, and an off-leash dog area.

Exploring the Plumas National Forest

The Plumas National Forest offers visitors more than 1 million acres of mountain peaks, streams, lakes, valleys, deep canyons, waterfalls and meadows. Hiking, fishing, swimming, biking, climbing, horseback riding, and winter activities are all popular in the forest. Nearly 75 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail can be found in Plumas National Forest. If you love waterfalls, don’t miss out on the 640-foot Feather Falls found on the Feather Falls National Recreation Trail.

If you feel like hanging around camp, you can play volleyball, horseshoes, have a picnic, or take the short walk to the Feather River. Camp Layman is perfect for relaxing and enjoying some much needed peace and quiet.
